Costureiro Garrafeira

Tasting Notes
Costureiro Garrafeira 2019 comes from a low-yielding single vineyard of around 45 years, planted only with indigenous Douro varieties: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz.
The grapes are trodden in lagar through the first 24 hours of phenolic extraction and then vinified in stainless steel vats under controlled temperature and environment. After malolactic fermentation, the wine spent 20 months in new 500-litre French oak barrels. It was bottled on 9 March 2022: 1,000 bottles of 750 ml, 100 of 1500 ml and 10 of 3000 ml.
Intense, concentrated ruby, with a classic Douro nose of preserved and candied fruit and balsamic nuances. The palate is structured, with firm yet smooth tannins and a long, persistent finish. Enjoyable now and built to last. It pairs well with cured cheeses, charcuterie, rich red meat and game. Serve between 16 ºC and 18 ºC, decanting beforehand.
