FOZ TUA WINERY

Where unique wines are made

Overlooking the Douro and at the gates of the historic Tua railway station, the Foz Tua Winery produces wines of a unique character that embody the producers’ passion for the Alto Douro wine region.

Wines like Costureiro, Foz Tua and Dou Tua’s flavours are the culmination of a dream come true.

After a careful selection process, two great new premium wines joined the portfolio in 2021: the over 40-year-old Port Wines. A Tawny and a White, both in a limited-edition of 1200 units. This makes Foz Tua the first wine producer, in the Carrazeda de Ansiães municipality to market Port Wine.

An Historic Building

The historic Foz Tua winery dates back to 1892. It served as the old warehouse and press of Quinta da Chousa and has passed through the hands of many owners, most notably Francisco da Rocha Leão and Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, better known as the Ferreirinha.

Acquired in 2015, the building was restored in 2017, maintaining and respecting its original DNA, paying tribute to its history and the region’s uniqueness.

Today it is ready to receive visitors who want to learn about our production process and taste Foz Tua wines.
