FozTua

FozTua was the house’s first wine and took its name from the place where it is made, Foz do Tua, in the Douro Cima Corgo. The winery stands next to the Tua railway station and is screen-printed on the labels.

The range includes FozTua red, the Reserva, the Grande Reserva and the White Reserva. The reds come from low-yielding vineyards planted with Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz, trodden in lagar and aged in French oak barrels.

The iconic Foz Tua Red is a DOC Douro created from the Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz grape varieties. Full-bodied, firm, mature and with smooth tannins, it is a wine with a complex, persistent and very elegant finish.
